DeJuan Mason is the Community Engagement Coordinator at the Coalition for Racial Equity and Democratic Economy (CREDE). A proud graduate of Mount Vernon College, she was inspired to pursue a career in the non-profit arena while working as a chapter relations manager for the American Nurses Association. Prior to working at CREDE, she was the manager of Curbside Groceries at the Capital Area Food Bank where she was responsible for launching a mobile grocery truck in Ward 8 and Prince George’s County. Additionally, she has worked in the workforce development arena for community-based organizations and facilitating life skills training for youth detained through DYRS. As a board member of Douglass CLT, DeJuan aims to serve her hometown in a way that builds up her neighbors through education and engagement while at the same time ensuring that their voices are centered in any work or development that affects their lives, their futures and those of their children and their children’s children. In her free time, she can be found enjoying outdoor festivals, drafting plays, poems and short stories, or singing in the Charm City Labor Chorus.
